Asthma Diet

Meal after meal we struggle to find ways for Camden to eat our 'new' food.  When she was a year old she was eating spinach like it was candy. Now she declares that she does not like any "green stuff". She would rather eat bread or cheese.  Trying to get the most nutrition in her as possible, we present her with raw vegetables (green, yellow, red) in tasty hummus and other honey sweetened salad dressings that G creates. We've realized our mistake and have had to back off the raw a little, the change is too much and too fast. It's a slow process, but it's still great that she is eating steamed veggies over cheese and bread.

Camden's new diet is the Mucusless Diet as described by Dr. Christopher. Per Dr. Christopher,

"Asthma is caused by malnutrition. Only by diligent and consistent effort to change embedded habits will one get permanent relief. The cough is a result of nature's effort to expectorate mucus from the lungs, after which breathing becomes easier. Ofttimes the cause of asthma is basically a nervous condition because the nerves are irritated."

"To get to the root of the matter, the system must be cleared of toxins and the nerve energy restored to normal;  then the cause does not exist."

"Harmful or mucus-forming foods. Secondary, denatured, or inorganic food substances are to be eliminated . . ."

Ideally we would do a cleanse, diet and herbal cleanse however I am not quite sure how to get a 2.5 year old to understand and consent (i.e. consume) to a cleanse so we will start with the diet. Trying to eliminate the addition of more mucus in her system.

The foods that are no longer allowed in Camden's diet consist of: Salt, Eggs, Meat, Milk and all dairy products, Sugar and processed foods as well as Flour and flour products (extending this to include most inflammatory grains like wheat).  In addition to eliminating these foods we are also trying to give her as much raw foods as possible so her body can get lots of nutrition. She is also eating Superfood and likes the Superfood bars for snacks!

Now that we have a diet to adhere to we desperately need to find some kid-friendly recipes so that meal time can be less stressful for everyone involved :)
