Turning 30 is a zoo

I recently hit the big 3-0 mark. On my birthday G took the day off so we could spend a special day out and about as a family. It was a nice day so I chose to visit the Sacramento Zoo. We were able to introduce Camden to a bunch of new animals.  As far as she knew the only animals that existed were smelly dogs!  Raspberry!!!!!!!!

First up was this furry little owl. He's so cute. Don't you just want to take him home and cuddle with him?

Same with this little dude.

Camden's wingspan is about the size of an American Kestrel. Poor girl also wears 'mom' jeans. Check out the long waist!

Camden's favorite animals at the Zoo were the flamingos. I guess its not surprising given their bright colors. Maybe we'll end up moving to a trailer park in Miami with a pink flamingo in the yard . . .

All the poor Giraffe wants to do is make friends, but Camden's thoroughly disinterested.

By the end someone had just about enough of the zoo.

On the way home we stopped by the ice cream shop for some treats. I had a yummy scoop of 'birthday cake' flavored ice cream on a sugar cone. Camden was so jealous that she knocked the ice cream right off my cone and onto the floor. She went to bed without dinner that night . . . (laugh: it's a joke)

Turning 30 wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. Like most birthdays, it was just 'another day'.
