We started planting greenery around the pool: big leaf hydrangea, dahlia tuberous, crimson queen japanese maple, echinacea (from seed), mondo grass, alyssum, and lavender.
The walls on the side of the fireplace will be a little more than a foot tall and the one in front will be two bricks high for easy access to the fireplace cleanout.
Light pink flowered iceplant is planted along side the pool coping, inspired by a recent camping trip to the Mendocino coast.
